World Water Day is announced on 22nd March and celebrated every year. It was first celebrate in 1993 and founded by the United Nations General Assembly. It is celebrated to raise the awareness towards importance of water and how to preserve it.
WORLD WATER DAY CELEBRATION
This year 2019, the world water day is celebrated with the theme, “Leaving no one behind” and also customized the central promise of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Sustainable Development Goal 6 is crystal clear: water for all by 2030.
Moreover, in previous years, the World Day was celebrated to aware that it is necessary to understand that natural resources are important for sustaining life on earth and also many posters and Banners are made by students with the slogan “Save Water Save Life” and others water related topics.
In 2018, the theme “Nature of Water” was announced to celebrate the day to aware that how nature can be used to overcome the water challenges of the 21st century and in 2017, the theme “Why Waste Water” was selected which was about reducing and reusing wastewater.
In Schools and colleges, this day is celebrated by organized many competitions, Debates on Water issues, Poster making and Banner making as well as Speech on water related topics.
Many organizations and companies, held conferences and meeting on this day where they discuss the issues and problems related to water and also find various ways to save water.
