WORLD POPULATION DAY
World Population Day is celebrated on 11th July every year so that issues related to population awareness should be raised. Governing Council of the United Nations Development Programme in 1989 established this event. Issues like poverty, shortage of food, pollution, etc are paid attention. Various activities are done on this day. Activities include seminar discussions, educational information sessions , essay competitions, open classes , etc. Current burning issue which is always discussed is “Family Planing”. It is recommended to all families.
World population day theme for 2015 was “Vulnerable Populations in Emergencies”. World Population Day is annually celebrated.
