World Hemophilia Day History and Themes
World Hemophilia Day is an international observance is celebrated on 17th of April every year. It is celebrated to aware the people for hemophilia and other bleeding disorders, which also serves to raise funds and attract volunteers for the WFH.
WORLD HEMOPHILIA DAY HISTORY
This day was first celebrated on 17th April 1989 and founded by World Federation of Hemophilia which is an international non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of people with hemophilia. There is also the birthday in 17th April of Frank Schnabel, who is also the founder of World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) and this is the main reason to choose this date to celebrate the World Hemophilia Day.
When the World Hemophilia Day was founded, it was called Abulcasis and this day was discovered in 10th century. In 1937, hemophilia genetic disorder was divided into two types: A and B but no cure was founded till that time. So, this day was founded collect funds for the treatment of this disease for those people who can’t afford it.
