World Day of Social Justice

Background of the world day of social justice
The global mission of the UN aims at achieving social justice for everyone to promote the dignity of every individual. It is the reason due to which the International Labor Organization undertakes the adoption of the ILO declaration where the prime motive was to achieve social justice among all. The declaration was announced on 10 June 2008 for fair and legit globalization. Under the 1919’s ILO constitution, fair globalization is considered as the third major statement under the principles and policies adopted by the ILO. The declaration is based on the Decent Work Agenda that is the prime motive of the organization as that assists in maintaining social justice globally.
Even the General Assembly seeks to maintain peace and security across every corner of the globe for which the authorities understand the importance of social justice that leads to social development. It is quite obvious that human rights and basic freedoms of the people are basic requirements to gain peace and secure the life of every individual globally.
How social justice eases the life of human beings?
- Social justice leads to the creation of equal opportunities for all due to which every sector witnesses progress.
- It leads to advancement in the living standards of human beings.
- The growth of the world economy is also directly related to social justice as it removes the bars set by the prejudices.
- Not merely this, but it promotes the participation of everyone in various existing sectors of the economy regardless of their age, gender, caste, or religion.
All-in-all, it would not be wrong to say that social justice leads to growth in the world economy by direct or indirect means. Though the Decent work Agenda tries to overcome various other social challenges like poverty, financial security, etc. yet the main inclination is always towards the maintenance of social justice as it changes lives drastically.
The General Assembly on the 26th November of 2007 declared that the 63rd session of the assembly will lead to the celebration of the World Day of Social justice on the 20th February every year. Since then, the whole populace across the globe observes the day and tries their best to achieve justice among all socially.
