Teachers Day Speech For/By Teachers
A good teacher is like a candle; it ingests itself to light the way for others‘. Good Morning to all the fellow teachers present here.
Today is the 5th September Teachers Day which is marked as the Birth Anniversary of one of modernised India’s most awe-inspiring Teacher and philosopher, the Late Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was the first vice president and second president of Independent India. We have well been observing it ever since his passing away as our country’s Teachers’ Day. As our honourable prime minister, Narendra Modi has said ‘Mother Gives Birth to Child, Teacher Gives Life’. We can say, Just as a country is as good as its people, so its citizens are only as good as their teachers. A teacher plays a very vital role in the life of a student.
Teachers Day Speech For/By Teachers
It is the responsibility of us teachers to refine a student for all blocks of life. A teacher sees a statue in the block of stone. It is the role of teachers to spark the fire in students, to achieve something in life and to work for it, but most importantly, become a better human being. In classrooms, we don’t just have to deliver knowledge but to enable students to evaluate and face the complexities of their life. A student spends more than half of his day in the company of his teachers, that is, in school. In the later stages of life too, like in college, the teachers guide their students and counsel them to choose the path of their lives.
Teaching is the mother of all professions. Before coming up to teach students, the teachers have to prepare the topic themselves, only then they can deliver it to the student. Every day the teacher teaches, he must have revised that topic the previous day. A teacher can’t afford to give out wrong information to students because they play a crucial role in forming the student’s opinion. Talking about opinions, a teacher doesn’t have the freedom to slam their own opinions on students due to academic freedom.
I believe a teacher helps the student in learning what is right and what is wrong. When a pupil makes a mistake, a teacher punishes him/her to make him/her realise that what they did was wrong. Not only this, a teacher praises a student who works hard thereby motivating them to achieve further.
Moreover, we teachers need to stay updated with the latest knowledge in this fast-moving world with rapidly changing societies. Teacher’s day reminds us of our responsibilities and commitments towards moulding the future generations in taking up complicated challenges with a never give up attitude and making our country, an advanced and refined nation with the high sensibility towards general welfare of the society.
We should not wait for special occasions such as teacher’s day to appreciate the work our teachers are doing; we should celebrate it every single day by co-operating and giving our best in and out of the classroom.
I conclude my Teachers Day Speech For/By Teachers with the famous words by honourable former president late A.P.J. Abdul Kalam ‘Teaching is a very noble profession that shapes the character, calibre, and future of an individual’.
