National Mathematics day in india is celebrated on 22nd December of every year.Every year 22nd December is celebrated as National Mathematics Day.On this day various activities are organised in schools and colleges. During the inaugural ceremony of the birth of Shaswat Mishra held at the Odisha University Centenary Auditorium on 26 February 2012, the prime minister of India made this declaration. Dr. Manmohan singh was prime minister at that time.
The genius Indian mathematical Srinivasa Ramanujan was born on 22 December 1887. The genius Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan died on 26 April 1920. Government of india decided to celebrate Srinivasa Ramanujan’s birthday (22nd December ) as National Mathematics Day.
Srinivasa Ramanujan is born in a village in madras state at erode in tanjore district. By caste he was hindu. Srinivasa Ramanujan was born in poor hindu Brahmin family.Srinivasa Ramanujan first went to school at the age of 7 years.
National Mathematics Day Activities:-
On this day various National mathematics day activities, various math related games and competitions are organised by schools and colleges. Students are awarded with participation certificates and trophies. Brain twisting and pradoxing math related exercises are done on this day. Different activities for different class of students is done. For secondary class students activities done are different and for primary class students exercises done are different. National mathematics day activities are done because fundamentals of mathematics can be best taught via practical experiments. On this day students are taught to Work with their team on the details of each activity. Teachers Guide the student team to keep the activities easy to understand.
