Let us start with the question, what is Yoga?, Well yoga is an way of exercise that helps keeping you healthy, flexible and active through out the day. International Yoga Day is celebrated on 21st of June every year. With efforts of Indian Prime Minister, whole world celebrate 21st June as International Yoga Day. In the UN General Assembly of 11th December2014, almost 170 countries agreed with the proposal presented by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.
Due to that, UN president made the announcement to celebrate 21st June as World Yoga Day. Actually, Yoga is not something which have arrived only a few years back. However, it is a blessing from our ancestors who begin meditating and practicing yoga long centuries ago.
The very first Yoga Day was celebrated in India at Rajpath which is situated in the capital of India, Delhi. On this day, people from different groups and organisations assemble to perform yoga asanas. This day is celebrated in the morning by practicing yoga in almost every school,college, university, government office and private office with great passion and enthusiasm.

The different states of India organize mega events on Yoga Day and various countries follow the trend too. But, the main motive behind the celebrations of this event is the recognition of yoga’s importance.
Everyone must know that yoga plays quite a beneficial role in our lives. Thus, we should not leave any stone unturned to make it mundane in our daily lives.
