INTETRNATIONAL DANCE DAY HISTORY

This global day was founded in 1982 to promote the art of dance around the world. On this day, there is also the anniversary of the birth of Jean-Georges Noverre (1727–1810), who is the creator of modern ballet.

The objective of International dance day is to celebrate dance, revel in the universality of this art form, cross all political, cultural and ethnic barriers, as well as bring people together with a common dance language. A message is spread all over the world every year from an outstanding choreographer or dancer. The International Dance Committee of ITI and the Executive Council of ITI choose the author of the message and then the message is translated into numerous languages and circulated globally.
