We don’t need any special day or moment to recognize the importance of children in our life and their contribution to the making of a nation. We can praise their tireless efforts all the time. Every day comes with another opportunity to take pride in the achievements of children and encourage them to strive for further progress. Though this spirit remains fresh throughout the year, the arrival of children’s day heightens the ecstasy for the day and gives more reasons to laud the efforts of students in schools, colleges and universities, and the children in the streets.
Children’s day 2022 in India

In India, children’s day is celebrated on 14th November every year. It marks the arrival of the birth anniversary of independent India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. He was popular amongst children on account of his love and care towards them. On his birthday, he would visit educational institutions to meet children, spend time with them, and appreciate their efforts to achieve prowess in education and other fields. In addition to this, children were also rewarded and awarded for acts of valour. The tradition started by him still runs in the veins of the country and misses no chance to make a difference in the lives of children.
Amongst the educational institutions, schools are the ones that witness grand celebrations on this day. Several events are organized throughout the day that keeps students involved in learning and growing activities. Some of these events are fancy dress parties, quizzes, painting competitions outdoor and indoor games. The purpose of most of these events is to trigger and enhance creativity in students that exhibit their true talent. What can be a better way to celebrate children’s day than conferring them with some responsibilities? Well, some teachers know the best way around to observe the day. Such teachers take a day off managing classrooms and teaching students so that the student performs all their classroom duties.

Students in colleges and universities recognize the arrival of the Children’s day in India in some different, but interesting manner. Seminars are conducted to study the life of Jawaharlal Nehru to realize his contribution to attaining independence. Workshops are organized to render students with more learning options using practical tasks. Speeches are delivered by professors and students both to infuse the spirit of inspiration amongst everyone present.
The one thing that is common to both schools and colleges/universities is that the achievements of students are recognized and lauded on this day. In addition to getting awarded for their educational performance, students are also lauded for their life-saving attempt when they put their own lives in harm’s way to save someone else’s life.

Students are not the only children that get glorified for their accomplishments and bravery. Children living in the streets who can’t afford to attend a school are also honored by state and center governments for their endeavors for earning their bravery acts. It all may seem so promising, but the true devotion to Jawaharlal Nehru will be to find every child of the nation a seat in the schools of the country so that can grow into educated and learned beings.
