YOU MUST KNOW (GENERAL KNOWLEDGE) PART 7

YOU MUST KNOW (GENERAL KNOWLEDGE) PART 7

Hello students , Every exam contains one general awareness/general knowledge section. General knowledge/general awareness has no end, but to improve it, once we have to start.  Like previous ones,  i have written some points which will help you a lot in cracking various exams for eg:- SSC, FCI, PO,CLERK AND MANY MORE. These points (general knowledge for competition) are very important as per exam.

It will take maximum 10 minutes to have a look on it (general knowledge for competition). Any questions and inquiries most welcome. Feel free to contact us.

YOU MUST KNOW (GENERAL KNOWLEDGE) PART 7

  • The study of universe on grand scale is called cosmology..
  • The milky way galaxy is in spiral form.
  • Multiple stars have largest percentage in universe.
  • The stars which show varying dergrees of luminosity are called Binary stars.
  • The Supernovae & Novae are those stars whose brightness suddenly imcreases ten to twenty magnitudes or more and then fades into normal brightness .

  • If sun dies it will transformed into a Black dwarf

NOTE:-

Dwarf star:- A relatively small, low-mass star that emits an average or below-average amount of light.

Black dwarf:- The theoretical celestial object that remains after a white dwarf has used up all of its fuel and cooled off completely to a solid mass of extremely dense & cold carbon. A white dwarf with the passage of time  become a black dwarf unless it has a companion star from which it can take sufficient mass to pass the Chandrasekhar limit  and finally transform into a neutron star  or black hole . No black dwarf has yet been observed  because the estimated cooling time for a white dwarf is in the trillions of years, it is unlikely that there are many. if there is any black dwarfs in our universe, it will be 12 to 18 billion years old.

  • An ancient star that has collapsed matter so dense that it  creates gravitational force so powerful that even light too can’t escape. It is called black hole.
  • The sun contain over 99.8% of the total mass of the solar system.
  • Hydrogen and Helium are the most important constituents of sun’s mass.
  • The distant of planets from the sun can be described by Bode’s law.
  • Jupiter planet has the largest equatorial radius.
  • If Saturn planet is brought on the ocean it will float
  • Saturn planet has the largest number of satellites.
  • Bode’s law states that each planet tends to be twice as far from the sun as its next Sunward neighbour.
  • Sidereal means Pertaining or referring to the stars.
  • Natural theories are the theories which suggest that planetary system form as part of the evolutionary history of some stars.
  • The direction of rotation of earth on its axis is west to east.
  • Pluto is the planet which takes  the longest time to complete one revolution around the sun.
  • Earth can be best described as a Geoid.

NOTE:-

Geoid:- The geoid shape of earth is simply stated as  the shape that the surface of the oceans would take under the influence of gravity alone.

OR

The shape (geoid shape of earth) a fluid Earth would have if it had exactly the gravity field of the Earth.

  • The total number of degrees that the earth rotates on its axis during a 12 hrs period is 180 degree.
  • When the Earth is at its maximum distance from the sun it is called Aphelion.
