World Post Day Activities
On World Post Day, several events are organized throughout the world, but most of these events take place at government institutions except for schools. Irrespective of the stature of the school, i.e. whether it is public or private, students are taught about this auspicious day in an equal manner. They are introduced to several facts associated with this day so that they understand and celebrate the day better.
Amongst the activities that held on this day is honoring the people who have given their precious years to postal services in their respective countries. Just the way students who perform well in schools are honored on an annual function, the same goes with postal departments as well of most of the countries. Employees of postal departments who render their services without failing to do their part are honored. It is done by either giving them some prize/money or promotion or both which is necessary to motivate them and others to perform their duties unflinchingly.
In schools, events are conducted where students are asked to put on dresses pertaining to different profiles related to a postal department and play a drama. It not only serves the purpose of celebrating the day, but also adds to the better growth of students. Rallies are also carried out by the employees of postal departments to make people aware of the importance hand-written letters and telegrams in the era of internet. They are made to realize that the emotions and feelings that such letters carry can’t be delivered by the letters that are sent over the internet through emails.
In the world that is growing pretty fast, it is necessary that you use the internet to match the pace of others, but it is way more important that you do not forget the traditions and practices that have shaped the world as we know it today. Emotions articulated on a piece of paper did way more in old times than internet does nowadays. Hence, the biggest gift to the people associated with the postal services will be the revival of old practice and begin jotting down your feelings on a piece of paper.
